HBAR has made a solid attempt at recovery recently, but broader market cues are pulling the altcoin back.
Trading at $0.156, HBAR is likely to face some correction in the coming days as weak inflows and bearish sentiment weigh on its price action. Despite this, the token remains a focal point for potential future growth.
HBAR Inflows Strengthen
The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) indicator has struggled to close above the zero line, signaling weak inflows into HBAR. This is a concerning signal, as the CMF’s failure to sustain positive movement reflects investor skepticism and a lack of strong buying interest. Although HBAR briefly crossed into the positive CMF zone for the first time in over a month, the overall market sentiment remains weak.
This struggle with the CMF suggests that investor confidence is fragile, with many hesitant to commit to HBAR at higher levels. As a result, the chances for continued upward momentum appear limited, and the likelihood of further gains remains low unless broader market conditions improve or a surge in buying interest occurs.
On a more positive note, technical indicators like the Relative Strength Index (RSI) are showing bullish momentum for HBAR. Currently sitting above the neutral 50.0 mark, the RSI indicates that buying pressure is gaining strength. This shift suggests that, despite the weak inflows, there may still be potential for HBAR to experience a positive price move if the momentum continues to build.
The RSI moving into bullish territory is a critical signal for investors, as it shows that the market is not entirely bearish. The increasing momentum could eventually work in favor of HBAR, potentially counteracting some of the challenges presented by weak inflows and broader market uncertainty. The key will be whether this momentum can sustain itself over time.
HBAR’s price has been stuck under a two-week-long downtrend, currently trading at $0.156. To escape this trend, HBAR will need to show further signs of strength, both from technical indicators and market sentiment. If the conditions outlined above improve, the token may break free from its downward trajectory.
The first major hurdle for HBAR is breaking and flipping the $0.163 level into support. This is crucial as it would pave the way for the altcoin to reach the $0.180 resistance level. Investors will need to hold their positions through this critical phase, as any premature selling could derail the potential for further gains.
However, if investor sentiment shifts to selling, whether for profit-taking or due to increased uncertainty, the bullish outlook could be invalidated. Losing the $0.154 support level would likely result in a drop toward $0.139, ending HBAR’s hopes for a continued recovery in the short term.
Bitcoin (BTC) has reclaimed the $99,000 mark for the first time in over two months, igniting optimism among analysts who anticipate a price breakthrough above the $100,000 mark soon.
Notably, BTC’s performance over the past month has been quite remarkable. Its value has appreciated by 31.8%, representing a strong comeback from its Liberation Day lows in early April.
Is Bitcoin on Track to Reach $100,000?
In the early Asian trading hours, the largest cryptocurrency reached $99,388, marking its highest price since February 21, 2025. At press time, Bitcoin’s price had adjusted to $98,874. BeInCrypto data showed that the coin experienced a slight 0.3% dip in the past hour.
Yet, this increase has fueled optimism that a rise to $100,00 is inevitable. Market participants on X (formerly Twitter) have echoed the positive outlook.
“Bitcoin is knocking on the door of $100,000 again. Tick, tock…,” Anthony Pompliano wrote.
Previously, a Bitfinex forecast suggested that if Bitcoin holds above $95,000, a revisit to its all-time highs becomes likely. This prediction appears to be materializing as Bitcoin now trades above this threshold.
Furthermore, several market indicators and developments support the bullish sentiment. An analyst revealed that Bitcoin has moved past a price range where many traders were holding short positions with high leverage.
“There is no significant resistance until around $100,000,” the analyst stated.
In their weekly newsletter, Glassnode also noted that Bitcoin’s realized cap has reached a record high of $889 billion, growing by 2.1% over the past month. This increase reflects rising investor confidence and capital inflows.
The firm pointed to signs of renewed market strength, with significant capital flowing back into Bitcoin, particularly through ETFs. Over the last two weeks, more than $4.6 billion has entered Bitcoin ETFs.
“The total AUM held within the US spot ETFs has now climbed to over 1.171 million BTC, which is just 11,000 BTC shy of the 1.182 million BTC ATH,” the newsletter highlighted.
This surge in inflows has largely reversed the earlier period of outflows, further indicating strong demand for Bitcoin.
“Strong ETF inflows, alongside improved investor confidence, helps to paint a picture of stronger tailwinds supporting the Bitcoin market,” Glassnode added.
Meanwhile, CryptoQuant highlighted that over the past three days, the amount of stablecoins sent to Binance has grown substantially. The peak was on May 6, when the inflow reached nearly $1 billion, making it the largest single-day deposit since April.
“Stablecoin inflows typically reflect investor readiness to enter the market, as these assets are often sent to exchanges in anticipation of buy-side activity,” the post read.
In addition, Binance’s latest reserve disclosure showed a decline in the holdings of several major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), BNB (BNB), and Solana (SOL). In contrast, the 2.6% increase in Tether (USDT) reserves stands out.
This uptick in stablecoin holdings suggests a rise in liquidity. This signals that traders are positioning themselves for future market transactions.
Adding to the optimism, Tether dominance (USDT.D) has experienced a downtick. A decline in USDT.D typically indicates that investors are moving funds from stablecoins into other crypto assets, further fueling the rally.
Legislative progress is another tailwind for Bitcoin. Two Bitcoin-reserve bills have been enacted, and multiple more continue to advance through the legislative process. This implies that there is increasing institutional and governmental acceptance of Bitcoin.
As Bitcoin approaches the $100,000 threshold, investors are closely monitoring whether this rally will sustain its momentum or face resistance. With market conditions aligning favorably, the crypto community remains on edge for what could be a milestone for BTC.
For years, crypto in Africa was synonymous with Bitcoin (BTC). Today, that narrative has flipped, with companies like Yellow Card, a crypto exchange operating in Africa, clearly reflecting this shift.
In an exclusive with BeInCrypto, Yellow Card co-founder and CEO Chris Maurice reveals how it is building a pan-African stablecoin network to leapfrog traditional finance (TradFi). This is amid growing regulatory clarity, collapsing fiat systems, and a remittance revolution.
Stablecoins Are Transforming Africa’s Financial Scene
The pan-African exchange operates in over 20 markets, and Maurice says stablecoins now account for over 99% of its transactions. This makes Yellow Card a bellwether for what might be the most transformative trend in emerging markets finance.
“When we first launched Yellow Card in 2019, people were exclusively buying Bitcoin. Now, the most popular asset is Tether (USDT),” Maurice told BeInCrypto.
As it happened, necessity, not speculation, has driven this evolution. Africa leads the world in peer-to-peer (P2P) crypto trading volume. However, unlike global crypto hubs chasing volatile returns, Africans are choosing stablecoins out of financial survival.
Local currencies are eroding under inflationary pressure in countries like Nigeria, which ranks second globally in crypto adoption (per Chainalysis). Stablecoins offer a reliable store of value and seamless means of cross-border payments.
This is especially critical in a continent with $48 billion annual remittances and persistent banking limitations.
“Stablecoins are solving practical financial services challenges in Africa. People aren’t in love with the tech. They need faster, cheaper ways to move money to survive and thrive,” Maurice added.
Infrastructure Built for the Unbanked
Yellow Card has gone beyond trading services. Its infrastructure integrates mobile money systems (like M-Pesa in Kenya) and local fiat currencies such as the Nigerian naira and Ghanaian cedi. According to the firm’s CEO, this helps onboard users without bank accounts.
By managing compliance, currency exchange, and payments internally, the firm enables businesses to operate without battling unreliable local rails.
“Our mission is to let companies invest, hire, and grow in emerging markets without needing to stress over infrastructure. We’ve built the back office [meaning] cybersecurity, AML, [and] data protection, so they can focus on growth,” he articulated.
The Regulatory Dam Has Broken
Maurice also observed that African regulators kept crypto in limbo for years. In Yellow Card’s view, 2024 marked a tipping point.
“There is regulatory momentum in Africa that is only accelerating. The dam has broken,” he said.
South Africa now classifies crypto as a financial product. It has licensed major exchanges like Luno and VALR. Countries in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC), Mauritius, Botswana, and Namibia have followed suit with licensing regimes.
Meanwhile, regulatory incubators are emerging in Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Tanzania. Against this backdrop, Maurice says Yellow Card has actively helped draft legislation in Kenya and supports crypto frameworks in Morocco.
Fighting the Informal Market
Still, challenges remain. In countries like Ethiopia, Cameroon, and Morocco, outright bans have driven users underground into high-risk P2P networks. Yellow Card pushes for frameworks that level the playing field for compliant players.
“We face a lot of competition from companies that don’t maintain high AML standards…A level playing field is all we seek,” he said.
With $85 million in venture funding, Yellow Card is deploying capital into compliance and partnerships. With this, the company positions itself as the go-to infrastructure provider for global firms looking to tap African markets.
From Africa to Emerging Markets Everywhere
Cross-border payments are perhaps Yellow Card’s most powerful use case. The company’s co-founder says its stablecoin-powered rails are helping businesses reduce working capital needs, expand to new regions, and hire faster.
“We’ve had clients tell us we’ve enabled them to scale into new countries and reduce their costs dramatically. That’s real economic impact,” said Maurice.
The company is not stopping at Africa. Its infrastructure extends into other frontier markets, with a wave of strategic partnerships expected in 2025.
“Yellow Card has built a series of easy buttons for developed world companies to expand into complicated, high-growth markets,” he noted.
“Stablecoins are already a standard part of the financial infrastructure in Africa. CFOs and treasurers in traditional industries are now routinely using them to store and transfer value,” he added.
Africa’s crypto market is still small compared to global giants. Nevertheless, as the world shifts from speculation to utility, the continent’s fragmented financial systems may offer a glimpse into crypto’s most impactful use case: economic empowerment. For Yellow Card, the mission is clear and increasingly urgent.
“We’ve built a company for longevity and scale. Crypto adoption in Africa is stablecoin adoption,” Maurice concluded.
Onyxcoin has been on a persistent downtrend since reaching its all-time high of $0.049 on January 26. Trading at $0.015 at press time, the coin has since shed 57% of its value.
With mounting bearish pressure, the decline may not be over as market indicators signal further downside risks.
XCN Faces Heavy Sell Pressure
The steady outflows from XCN’s spot markets over the past month reflect the increased selling activity among its investors. Per Coinglass, in February, the altcoin only recorded four days of inflows, which totaled just $3.5 million. Conversely, XCN spot outflows exceeded $15 million during the same period.
Outflows from the XCN spot markets have reached $6.45 million so far this month. When an asset records significant spot outflows like this, its investors are selling their holdings.
This trend indicates that profit-taking is significant among XCN traders. It is a sign that there is no new demand for the altcoin, potentially lowering its prices in the short term.
Moreover, its funding rate has been predominantly negative since the beginning of the year, highlighting the bearish bias toward XCN.
This periodic fee is exchanged between long and short traders in perpetual futures contracts. It is designed to keep contract prices aligned with the spot market. When persistently negative like this, it means short positions are dominant, indicating traders are betting on further price declines, which can further reinforce bearish sentiment.
XCN Stuck in Downtrend: Will It Break Free or Drop Further?
On the daily chart, XCN remains within the descending parallel channel it has traded within since January 26. This bearish pattern is formed when an asset’s price moves between two downward-sloping parallel trendlines, indicating a sustained downtrend.
The pattern suggests that XCN sellers are in control. A drop below the lower trend line, which forms support, hints at further downside. If this happens, XCN’s price could drop to $0.0075.
