Ethereum’s price action has been slow and sideways recently, with analysts waiting for a confirmed breakout. Let’s take a closer look at what’s happening on the charts.
Ethereum Faces Strong Resistance Around $2,700 – $2,800
On the daily time frame, Ethereum is struggling to break above a strong resistance area between $2,700 and $2,800. Every time the price enters this range, it faces selling pressure and gets rejected.
If ETH can manage to close candles above $2,800, it could trigger a bullish move towards $3,200 – $3,300. But for now, it continues to bounce between this resistance and the support level around $2,400.
ETH Moving Sideways in a Tight Range
Ethereum’s price is currently moving sideways between $2,400 and $2,800. It has been stuck in this range for a while now, without any clear breakout in either direction. ETH seems to be forming an ascending triangle pattern, with higher lows and a horizontal resistance near $2,700.
A breakout above $2,800 could push prices towards $3,100, while a breakdown below the support line around $2,540 might lead to a drop toward $2,400 or even $2,200.
Is Ethereum in the Final Stages of a Bullish Wave?
According to Elliott Wave analysis, Ethereum might be in the final leg of a 5th wave up which started back in April from around $1,380. Currently, it’s believed ETH is completing an A-wave to the upside. A small pullback (B-wave) could follow soon, bringing prices down to the support zone between $1,650 and $2,170 before another possible rally.
However, If ETH can break above recent swing highs, it could confirm the bullish continuation. However, a break below $2,510 would weaken the bullish case, and a drop below $2,319 would further confirm a bearish move.
Solana price is on the rise, and analysts observe trends that may propel it to the $250 mark. This is an optimistic prediction following SOL Strategies, a listed Canadian company that deals in the Solana ecosystem, announcing that it has secured a $500 million convertible note deal with ATW Partners to boost its SOL holdings and staking activities.
$500 Million Convertible Note Structure To Buy SOL
SOL Strategies has secured what it describes as a “first-of-its-kind” convertible note facility with ATW Partners. According to the announcement, the $500 million facility will be implemented in multiple tranches. This starts with a $20 million closing expected to occur around May 1, 2025. This is subject to customary closing conditions.
BREAKING: SOL Strategies secures landmark USD $500M convertible note facility with ATW Partners to expand SOL holdings.
This first-of-its-kind structure is exclusively for SOL purchases and staking on our validators, with interest paid in SOL.
— SOL Strategies (CSE: HODL | OTCQX: CYFRF) (@solstrategies_) April 23, 2025
The facility is designed basically for the Solana ecosystem. Also, all capital will be exclusively allocated to purchasing SOL tokens. These tokens will then be staked on validators operated directly by SOL Strategies.
The announcement comes at a time when the SOL price has reclaimed the $150 level. SOL has pumped close to 18% in the last seven days.
In a notable element of the agreement, interest on the notes will be paid in SOL tokens rather than fiat currency. This interest will be calculated as up to 85% of the staking yield generated by the SOL acquired through the facility.
Technical Analysis Points To $250 Solana Price Target
Technical analysts are observing bullish patterns on Solana price charts that are indicative of a possible run-up to the $250 level. The SOL/USDT chart shows a definitive breakout from a falling wedge pattern. This is identified as a bullish indication of a price increase in technical analysis.
Analyst Luciano_BTC has shared some important changes on the chart. They are a “Falling Wedge” pattern that has shifted higher with a clean “Trendline Breakout.” The chart from the analyst also displays a potential target of +50% Uptrend.
Called it – pumped it. $SOL is the easiest trade of the century.
Technical analyst Christiaan concurs with this technical outlook. He just tweeted that the Solana price is heading to $250. Another analyst, Lucky, expressed strong conviction about Solana’s prospects. He called it the easiest trade of the century and predicting more green candles are coming.
The technical configuration shows SOL finding support at a point known as a Demand Zone, which Luciano_BTC identified, prior to starting its current rally. The chart shows a number of possible points of resistance to $250, with targets towards $180 and $220 before reaching the final destination. CoinGape has also analyzed and shared their price prediction for Solana, which shows that SOL is 49% bullish.
Coinbase, the largest US-based crypto exchange, received regulatory approval from the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) to launch XRP futures contracts through its derivatives arm.
This development marks a pivotal moment for institutional access to XRP altcoin, amid a broader derivatives market shakeup.
XRP Futures Now Live on Coinbase
Earlier in the month, Coinbase revealed its intention to bring regulated XRP futures to market, showing that it had filed for the offering with the CFTC. BeInCrypto reported that the US-based exchange filed to self-certify the product.
“We’re excited to announce that Coinbase Derivatives has filed with the CFTC to self-certify XRP futures—bringing a regulated, capital-efficient way to gain exposure to one of the most liquid digital assets,” read the announcement.
The firm anticipated the contract going live on April 21. During the late hours of the US session on Monday, Coinbase confirmed in a follow-up post that the product was live.
“Coinbase Derivatives, LLC now offers CFTC-regulated futures for XRP,” the exchange stated.
This approval suggests a fast-track endorsement by the CFTC, potentially opening the door to broader crypto derivatives activity in the US.
It is unsurprising that the agency has recently pivoted toward easing entry into the crypto derivatives sector. As BeInCrypto reported earlier this month, the CFTC rolled back several regulatory hurdles that had previously deterred traditional and crypto-native firms.
“As stated in today’s withdrawal letter, DCR [Division of Clearing and Risk] determined to withdraw the advisory to ensure that it does not suggest that its regulatory treatment of digital asset derivatives will vary from its treatment of other products,” the CFTC explained.
The changes simplify registration requirements and lower operational barriers for launching crypto derivatives products.
XRP Network Activity Soars 67.5%
With XRP historically maintaining high liquidity and a global user base, it represents a strong candidate for derivatives trading, especially in a newly liberalized environment.
Unlike more volatile mid-cap tokens, XRP benefits from a combination of legal clarity following the Ripple lawsuit outcome, broad exchange availability, and a sizable market cap. These elements make it attractive to institutional traders seeking capital-efficient exposure.
Recent on-chain data reveals a sharp uptick in network activity, further bolstering the case for XRP futures. Data shows XRP active addresses surged by 67.5% between April 19 and 20, ahead of Coinbase Derivatives’ XRP futures debut, climbing from 27,352 to 40,366.
The spike suggests growing engagement from retail and institutional participants, possibly in anticipation of expanded market access through derivatives.
Still, market sentiment around XRP remains mixed. Despite the regulatory milestone, XRP’s spot price has declined 1.26% in the past 24 hours, reflecting broader market consolidation and investor caution.
This suggests that while futures listings can enhance liquidity and price discovery over time, short-term price action often diverges from structural developments.
Coinbase’s move aligns with its broader strategy to position itself as a regulated gateway to crypto derivatives in the US. With the futures of Ethereum and Bitcoin already live, XRP has joined the lineup. This signals Coinbase’s confidence in XRP’s long-term viability despite lingering skepticism in parts of the US regulatory arena.
Cardano’s price has surged 10% over the past 24 hours, riding the wave of a broader crypto market rally to reach a two-month high.
The sharp move upward has pushed ADA to levels last seen in early March and has reignited bullish sentiment among spot and derivatives traders.
Cardano’s 10% Pump Sparks Surge in Profitable Supply
On-chain data from Santiment reveals that Cardano’s double-digit rally has boosted the percentage of its supply in profit. As of this writing, approximately 74.14% of ADA’s circulating supply—equivalent to 26.91 billion tokens—is now held at a profit.

When an asset’s profit supply spikes, it means that a significant portion of its circulating supply is now worth more than when it was acquired. Historically, a rise in profit supply correlates with renewed accumulation and often hints at further upward momentum as market sentiment improves.
Moreover, in the ADA derivatives market, the coin’s funding rate remains firmly positive, indicating that traders are increasingly taking long positions in anticipation of continued gains. This is currently at 0.0099%.
The funding rate is a recurring payment between traders in perpetual futures contracts, designed to keep the contract price aligned with the spot market.
When positive like this, traders holding long positions are paying those with shorts, indicating bullish sentiment and expectations of further price increases.
ADA Rally Gains Steam, but Profit-Taking Could Threaten $0.76 Support
With technical indicators flashing bullish and sentiment strengthening, ADA buyers have regained control, at least for now. If buying pressure strengthens and bull dominance remains, ADA could maintain its upward trend and rally to $0.84.
However, once buyers’ exhaustion sets in and traders begin to lock in their soaring profits, ADA could break below the support at $0.76 and fall toward $0.66.
